2010 Election Endorsements & Member Involvement

Our members here in Connecticut joined with SEIU members all across the country and made history in 2008 by standing united and working together. We elected leaders to the General Assembly, Congress, and the White House to tackle the issues affecting working families.

And in 2009, we had the opportunity to elect local elected leaders in the cities, towns, and schools where our members live and work. Once again we engaged our members in supporting candidates who would put workers' interests ahead of the special interests in communities across Connecticut.

In 2010, our members committed to electing a governor, state legislators, and members of congress who would put middle class and working families' interests ahead of the special interests. We organized an unprecedented internal drive to "get out the vote" for endorsed candidates over the summer and fall.

Thousands of phone calls and mailers to members helped turn close races into decisive wins on November 2, including the election of the first pro-worker governor in more than 20 years.
