Promoting Our McCusker Scholarships
Members' Scholarship Fundraisers, Winners, & Background

State Comptroller and Candidate for Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman Joined Union Members and Recipients for McCusker Awards Night 2010
Each year, our Union members' children and grandchildren have an opportunity to further their education through our Bernard H. McCusker Memorial Scholarship Fund. The benefit was established in 1961 as a tribute, obligation, and memorial to our union’s founder and first Executive Director, who died unexpectedly while serving the organization. The fund had two initial purposes:
To provide for the formal education of "Mac’s" daughter, Ann; and
To provide scholarships to the children of union members.
Since 1964, we have invested nearly $1,000,000.00 in building a better future for Connecticut working families through this exclusive Union incentive.
McCusker Awards Night 2010 was a great success in our continuing tradition of investing in the future of Connecticut's working families. Thanks to the generosity of individual members and Councils and Chapters, we were able to award scholarships of $1,000.00 each to 56 of our members' children and grandchildren for their college educations.
Our Union's Trustees are organizing additional fundraisers to help increase the number of scholarships awarded for 2011. Purchase tickets to Rock Cats and Connecticut Tigers minor league baseball games scheduled in August and some of the proceeds will benefit our scholarship fund.
