UPDATE ON ELECTIONS (2024)

As you know, June 4th was the union officer election for the Correction Supervisors Council of CSEA/SEIU Local 2001. I am proud of the record level of member participation we have seen during this voting process, our union is only strong when we all actively participate.

The CSC bylaws require that, in order for a candidate to be elected, they must achieve a majority of the votes cast.  In some of the races, a candidate achieved a majority which allows us to declare a winner, while in other multi-candidate races we had non-determinative results.  In the races with no winner, the by-laws require that we drop the lowest vote-getter and conduct an additional round of balloting.  Details on the second round are to be determined, but please note that in order to accommodate absentee balloting, the second round election date will be several weeks from now.

The results of the election on June 4th are as follows:

  • President.  The election for President was non-determinative because none of the three candidates achieved a majority.  Lieutenant Beverly Lee and Lieutenant Thomas Titus are the two candidates that advance to the second round of balloting.

  • Executive Vice President.  Lieutenant Samuel Quintana was elected Executive VP. Congratulations to Lieutenant Quintana!

  • Vice President for Captains and Counselor Supervisors.  The election for VP for Captains and Counselor Supervisors was non-determinative because none of the three candidates achieved a majority.  Captain Tyler Anderson and Captain Adam Hollister are the two candidates that advance to the second round of balloting.

  • Vice President for Lieutenants and Training Officers.  The election for VP for Lieutenants and Training Officers was non-determinative because none of the four candidates achieved a majority.  Lieutenant Evan Charter, Lieutenant Stephen Cross, and Lieutenant Dustin Schold are the three candidates that advance to the second round of balloting.

  • Treasurer.  Deputy Warden Lenny Ogando was elected Treasurer.  Congratulations to Deputy Warden Ogando!

  • Secretary.  Lieutenant Tawanda Kitt was elected Secretary.  Congratulations to Lieutenant Kitt!

  • Chief Steward.  Lieutenant Brandon McCloud was elected Chief Steward.  Congratulations to Lieutenant McCloud!

Again, please stay tuned for more information on the second round of balloting - the details will be provided within the next day or so.  To all who voted, thank you for taking the time to exercise your voting rights as union members.
