June- Special Olympics Summer Games volunteer opportunities.  Details to follow once plans are finalized!

Have you ever wanted to volunteer for Special Olympics?  It’s simple and easy to register!  The Summer Games are June 4th through June 8th, and there are many different opportunities to do so!

Listed below are the different areas where help is needed.  Do you have a sport you're interested in, or only one day that you can help - there are plenty of options!  Just scroll below to see what the opportunities are, and click on the link to sign up!

CYCLING –Yale West Campus, Orange CT

o   June 7th    Time:  8AM - 4pm

o   Job Description - Course Marshal - Assist course officials in supervision of the entire riding area for athletes, assist in communicating any accidents, bike problems, athlete issues while race is in progress.  Personal folding chairs, umbrellas for shade or rain, hats are highly recommended

Swimming, Soccer and Tennis - Hamden Hall – 225 Skiff Street, Hamden CT 06517

o   SWIMMING - June 6th   - 12 - 4pm

o   Job Description – Swimming – Assist with the Developmental Swimming competition

o   TENNIS - June 7th and 8th    - 8 - 4pm

o   Job Descriptions – Tennis – Assist with the Tennis competition by retrieving balls, awards, etc

SOCCER - June 7th and 8th 8 - 4pm

Soccer – Assist with the Soccer Competition as a field manager, scorekeeper, ball retriever, etc.

Track and Field, Swimming and Food Service:  Southern Connecticut State University – 200 Wintergreen Ave, New Haven CT 06515

o   SANDWICH MAKING – June 4th and 5th   9am - 3pm

o   Job Description – Sandwich Making – Help out by making Turkey, Ham, or PB &J Sandwiches for the weekend

o   FOOD SERVICE June 7th and 8th - 8:00am to 4:00pm

o   Job Descriptions – Food Service – Help out handing out breakfast, lunch, or dinner

Track and Field Helper – Assist with escorting athletes, keeping score, awards, etc.

·SWIMMING - June 7th and 8th

Swimming – Assist as one of the following (jobs assigned day of)

o   Access Enforcer/Bouncer – Enforce and re-direct persons from restricted areas to proper access areas

o   Athlete Staging - Assist and escort athletes for their race heats

o   Result Runner - Run heat sheets between staging and awards

o   Time/Result Recorder - Record athlete’s time on heat sheet and preparing sheets for awards

November 2025 - Thanks for Giving Drive. The Holidays can be a difficult time for many, and for decades the Good Works Committee has a tradition for providing for those in need at Thanksgiving.  Please consider making a donation to this worthy cause. 
These Thanksgiving gift cards are only made possible through the generous donations provided from money raised from Council, Chapter and Individual donations to the Good Works Committee.

November 2025- Special Olympics Basketball Tournament - Details to follow once plans are finalized!

The CSEA Good Works Committee is keen to offer opportunities for people to volunteer their time, and if you are not able to be directly involved in a volunteer activity, you can make a donation to the worthy causes the committee supports.
