Here’s what you need to know:

• These letters are required by federal Medicare rules whenever a provider’s contract is within 60 days of expiring — even if negotiations are ongoing and no disruption is expected.

• The language in the letters is legally mandated and cannot include important context about state retiree coverage.

• For State of Connecticut retirees covered under the State of CT Medicare Plan contracted by Aetna — not the standard Aetna Medicare plans — this situation is not expected to affect your access to care or your benefits.

Bottom line: You do not need to make any changes to your healthcare providers or coverage. We are confident this will be resolved without any interruption to your care.
